I am starting a series of blog posts on chakras. They will be posted on Fridays, because Fridays are the days for the topic: “Spiritual/Psychic Development”.
Today I will write an overview on chakras, and then each Friday I’ll talk about one of the chakras, what it helps with, what an imbalance causes, and how to heal the chakra.
What are Chakras? Chakras are energy centers inside and outside the body. The 7 main chakras that are inside the body are placed along the midline of the body. Our energy flows through our chakras, and is regulated by them. We will be mainly talking about the 7 main chakras that are in the body. I will later also talk of two chakras that are outside the body – the Soul Star chakra, and the Earth Star chakra. These two are also called the Transpersonal Chakras.
When all the chakras are open, clean, healthy, unblocked, and balanced, we enjoy great mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. However, when any chakra is not balanced or blocked, we suffer from illness, usually in those parts of the body that are regulated by that particular chakra, and also other emotional and spiritual problems. Fortunately there are easy ways to heal and balance your chakras. In fact, if you do a regular chakra clearing meditation, you will clear and balance all your chakras.
The main 7 chakras inside our body are:
1. Root or Muladhara chakra: This chakra is located at the base of the spine and at the pelvic floor. It is Red in color. This chakra governs how physically present you are in your body, how grounded you are, how safe you feel in this world, how your finances are etc.
2. Sacral or Swadhisthana chakra: This chakra is located between the navel and the Root chakra. It is Orange in color. This chakra governs sexuality, desire, and creativity.
3. Solar Plexus or Manipura chakra: This chakra, as the name suggests, is in the solar plexus region, which is the upper stomach region. It is Yellow in color. It governs your feelings of power, self-esteem, self-confidence, charisma etc.
4. Heart or Anahata chakra: This chakra is located in the center of the chest, and is Emerald Green in color. This chakra governs feelings of love, kindness, and compassion.
5. Throat or Vishuddha chakra: The Throat chakra is located at the base of the throat. It is Robin Blue in color. It governs communication and self-expression.
6. Third Eye or Ajna chakra: This chakra is located in the middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows. It is Indigo or dark Blue in color. This is the seat of clairvoyance, intuition, wisdom, and imagination.
7. Crown or Sahasrara chakra: This chakra is at the very top of our heads, the crown. It is Violet/Purple/White in color. This center is about our connection to our Higher Selves, to God, to the angels, and to higher wisdom. It is about one-ness with all. The picture I have bought to include above, shows the crown chakra outside the body and above the head, but this chakra is also in reality within the physical body and extends upwards.
Next Friday we will talk about the Root chakra in detail, what it does, what the imbalances cause, and how to heal it.

Much love,

Thank you so much for this! I will look forward to every Friday’s posting.
Thank you Kay <3
I have severe medical problems that I know are affecting my charkas. I also have personal issues that has caused Me to block some of my other charkas. I would love to be able to open my charkas but I’m not sure due to my health problems if this is possible, but the ones I have built walls around, I would really like to learn how to open them back up.
Debra, as you work to open, heal and balance your chakras, you will see that with regular chakra clearing practice your health will start to improve. This is not medical advice…just a spiritual one :-). Continue doing what your doctors advice you, and help the process with working on your chakras. Hugs!
I will be waiting impatiently for the information the you will share. The colors of the chakras also align with Native American and crystal healing. I have dabbled with this for some of my own ailments and for minor discomforts that my daughter had growing up. I will be trying to determine my own chakra blockages to begin living more fully and more focused again. Thanks for taking on this project. I can hardly wait until next Friday.
So happy you found this useful Teresa! Hugs!
Thank You My Friend…God Bless

Hi Christine! The next in this series – an article all about the Root chakra is already posted: https://www.swatinigam.com/tempflower/friday-spiritualpsychic-development-all-about-the-root-chakra/ Next Friday I will write about the Sacral chakra.
I’m so glad you are doing a series on chakras. It’s something I’m learning more about now and working on, so this comes at a good time!
Yes, chakras is where it all begins — psychic development, spiritual development, emotional/physical/mental health, safety, money, success etc, so I thought it would be good to do this.
