“You see that girl, she looks so happy, right? But inside she’s dying. She’s hurt and tired. Tired of all the drama, tired of not being good enough, tired of life. But she doesn’t want to look dramatic, weak or attention seeking so she keeps it all inside. Acts like everything is perfect but she cries at night, boy does she cry at night, so that everybody thinks she is the happiest person they know, that she has no problems and her life is perfect. Little do they know.” -Jayne Higgins

Do you feel like this girl is you? You could be a guy. You don’t have to be a girl. I know I often behave this way. I could be facing immense physical or emotional pain, but I have perfected the art of smiling and laughing whole-heartedly. Most people do not know there is ever anything going on with me.

A friend told me once, “I don’t understand. You laugh when you are happy. You laugh when you are sad. You laugh when you are angry. You laugh when you are bored. I don’t understand”

And I have learned how to spot many more people like me. They have the cheeriest of laughs and smiles. They are told, “You bring the sunshine when you walk into a room”, and yet there are solar flares inside of them.

There is nothing wrong with not laying out your emotions to the entire world. I understand this. But I do hope you have someone who you can confide in. And if you cannot do that, then please make sure you handle yourself with extreme care.

My go to is usually EFT tapping, going for long walks by myself, or meditating. What do you do to feel better, and bring yourself back to center?

The reason I ask you to handle yourself with extreme care is, people like us keep our emotions to ourselves, and sometimes it gets too much to hold in, and then people can harm themselves.
