Quick hair mask for dandruff
I have a dandruff issue that reduces and intensifies according to changes in the season. This simple hair mask works as an intensive therapy as well as helps to reduce the flakiness and itching that typically accompanies dandruff.
What you need
Warm coconut oil – according to your hair length (start with a minimum of 2 tablespoons for short hair)
Cinnamon powder – (For every 2 tablespoons of oil, you need half a teaspoon of fine cinnamon powder)
Getting the mask ready and using it
1. Warm the coconut oil in a double burner and add the cinnamon powder to it. Mix it well.
2. Start by parting your hair and applying this mask on the scalp.
3. Use gentle strokes to massage this mask and promote blood circulation
4. Leave it on for not more than 20 – 30 minutes.
5. Wash off with a mild shampoo and follow up with a conditioner.
You may experience a slight tingling sensation on the scalp which is normal.
Cinnamon is spice that is loaded with antimicrobial properties that helps in treating an itchy scalp and dandruff. It a good option to also treat dry and brittle hair as well as reduce the intensity of hair loss. You can also add a drop of cinnamon oil to your shampoo and use it regularly to promote healthy and shiny hair.

My name is Pratibha Pal. My quest for using natural products started soon after I gave birth to my twin boys. Before I knew it, I was shunning all the products I had been using for so long because of the nasties in it. I began to explore the market only to discover all the goodness that I had been conveniently missing all these years.
My blog started as a medium to reach out to like-minded people who believed in the goodness of natural and pre living. One thing led to another and before I realized it, I was making things that I could use. Scrubs, lotion bars, hair masks and more, the list is endless.
I am thrilled to be on Swati’s blog today and I am sharing a simple recipe that I use pretty often for a DIY Hand Sanitizer. You can follow me on my blog Pratsmusings, Facebook and Twitter.

Hi, Would you have any for skin therapy? Dark spots and pimples are appearing my face. Thank you!
Rose, there are many things you can do for pimples. Try them one by one for a few days each, and see which one helps: 1) Apply Tea Tree Oil 2) Apply a mask of ground oatmeal and warm water 3) Fuller’s Earth paste in water 4) Coconut oil. Are your dark spots because of pimples?
Pimples are just appearing recently but the dark spots are maybe caused by sun heat or from facial creams that I am not suppose to apply.
Rose, have you asked your doctor if the spots are hormonal?
No Swati. I have not. If they are hormonal how do I treat them?
Ask your doctor. The skin specialists give a cream to fade those.
Thanks Swati. I will see a skin specialist.
Wishing you the best! :-)))
